Brief Description: Wing Tip #9 - Countersinking the tips
I countersunk the glass tips on all 4 areas alternating the open holes between the clecos and then switching the clecos by one hole and finishing the countersinking. Pretty normal stuff. I noticed some wear on the air hose and did some R/R to remove the worn out hose and with a slightly shorter hose I was ready to power up the air compressor.
I also pulled the ProSeal out of the refrigerator where I store it so that it would have a chance to warm up which will allow it to be more pliable. I will be using it to assist in the bonding of the hinge to the wing tip (along with the rivets).
Lastly, I prepped all 4 hinges by scuffing the bonding surface of each. I also prepared for the proseal/riveting session by taping off the hinges so as to keep the ProSeal out of the hinge pin retainer area (eyes). I also drilled ¼” holes and a few divots in the ends of the hinges giving the ProSeal more area to bond.
