I used a strong cord and fed it through the trailing edge of the right side flap and then suspended it from above to help me position it with the proper gap between and even to the aileron set at its neutral position - this is how Jeff M did his and I followed his lead. I used a clamp at each end of the hinge to hold everything in place and then took the measurements each time. It took may, many iterations to get to the right fit. The flap to aileron gap is 1/4" top to bottom and the aileron and flap should make for a straight line across their trailing edges. I am happy with how it turned out. There was really only one place that the flap would be in the proper place on all three sides - there is a bit of an edge distance problem at the hinge line if I was to go any farther. With all three sides in line, I started drilling the holes in the hinge, clecoing as I went until all the holes were drilled and clecoed.
