Fabricated a doubler plate for the step attach to the baggage compartment rib.
Concerned that the torque on the tube could damage the rib from an aggressive step off the wing, I decided to reinforce the rib. Back riveted a .063 plate to a longer .032 plate to get a maximum spread of force. AN 470-4 universal rivets hold the doubler to the rib, although I'll have to get a pincher type squeezer to finish the lower two rivets. Even the higher rivets leave little room to get a rivet gun in straight enough.
I'll be able to blind rivet the left baggage floor soon. All wiring conduit will be routed under the right side or maybe through the floor tunnel.
Havent't rivete the step to the fuselage side yet. Waiting for a replacement bolt that goes through the UHM block and the tube. The step kit included a bolt but it's short.
