After many months of remodelling the house, politics, and other activites, finally started up the "airplane factory" again. General clean-up, and then decided to lower the legs and get a better working height for the fuselage. Cut 6" from the legs attached to the false spar, then put the tailcone on a padded sawhorse.
Then started on the new seat floor skins (F-639 & F-640) - checked the width of the wing main spar and determined that the existing fwd seat floors where positioned too far back because the previous owner had not allowed for the full width of the spar, instead using the false spar width.
Used paint stir sticks to bring the width into perspective, and determined that the gear mounts would slight overlap the floor. This overlap would result in a distorted surface to bolt on the mounts and pinch the seat floors, preventing removal. Determined that a tapered trim was required.
Trimmed both F-639 & F-640 as needed for fit. Also, rough cut in the control stick openings.
