Brief Description:  Lt Step, spacers & drilling

After too many days of delay got my spacers back from the machine shop. The price was right (zero) but the delay of 10 days was not productive. Eventually, he used a hydraulic hand-pump die to punch out the lightening holes, and I think it could have been more precise.

The circles are not concentric and the entire spacer was deformed slightly. It was easy to flatten, debur and precision was NOT a significant issue. I drilled the attach holes for the F-623? rib and inserted a few bolts loosely in place to keep it all.

Drilling through the blocks/spacers was almost impossible due to the tight space between the baggage compartment floor ribs. Even with the 90deg angle drill - or, the 3/6" bit (too long).

The tube of the left step was drilled through the UHMW block and it is ready to clean-up the chips, bolt it all down, and close up the baggage compartment floors.

Need to order longer attach bolts to compensate for the spacers. And need to get more blind rivets, too. Another day ... another order.
