Brief Description:  Main ldg gear - fit/prep

Had previously removed the landing gear mounts when working on the seat floors. They are primed with what appears to be red-oxide. I think they were secured to the fuselage with temp fasteners for shipping.

Decided to blow out the cobwebs and clean-up the mounts, then decide how much can be done with them to re-install or install. Currently, the fuselage is sitting on the 2x4" legs attached to the faux spar (wood). At some point in the near future, I'll need to remove that faux spar so that the wings can be attached, so this seemed like a great idea to examine the elements and tasks.

After clean-up, a fresh coat of green primer, and ScotchBrite inside & out, I was able to insert the left main ldg gear (leg) into the bracket. I'm delighted to see that the leg is pre-drilled and I don't have to face that task (alignment is determined).

There will be another 'non-plane' task before any wings are attached - the garage has become a storage shed (again) and numerous boxes need to go into the house for processing. Can we say, "garage sale"? I'll need to make some decisions on the movement of benches and shelves, too. This is preliminary planning for that gear/wings.
