Brief Description:  Seat floors and EF-600

Fabricated the new 'seat' floors (F-642 R&L) yesterday and today went to a metal shop with a huge brake to bend a few items. Had a problem because the previous 'user' had re-installed the blade without some washers and the retention bolts extended into the alumimun being held in place. This didn't make a 'clean' bend. After fixes, the brake worked TOO well and I overbent the alumimun slightly in an effort to set the metal and avoid spring-back. Anyway, a little too much on one side and a little less than needed on the other. Will 'worry it into shape' as George Orndorff would say in Texas.

Without pre-drilled holes it is necessary to use a few techniques to get the holes aligned with the ribs, and avoid the previous owner's mistake of un-centered rivet holes. First step, find the center of the rib on the forward side of the sheet, mark this on the floor skin. Second step, do the same to find the center of the same rib in the aft edge. Third, draw a straight line between the points. This should be the location of the center of the rib flange when it is properly aligned under the floor.

Last step, is to draw a center line along the entire rib flange. Then drill the holes in the sheet alumimun ON THE BENCH, and you now have a 'pre-drilled skin' which can be installed as a newer 'match drilled RV" would be. Installed the floor skin in the correct position and reach under to move the top of each rib to center the line under the hole. "Back-drill" the flange on the center line thru the pre-drilled pilot hole. This may require duct tape or another way of reaching under, securing, or moving the rib to get the alignment. Clecoe the first hole and work outward from the first hole along that rib flange.
