Brief Description:  F-621B fabrication

Fabricated the F-621B canopy deck from factory channel for the right side of the cockpit. Largely based on the Lt side 'factory' top rail. Removed the protective vinyl on the bottom side but kept the top side covered for now. Will make some final fitting adjustments just before drilling, and riveting.

Contoured the outside edge by scribing a Sharpie line on the bare alum underneath the material. Used the bandsaw to remove the bulk of the extra alum and then the 1" strip sander to 'final shape' to the scribe line.

UPDATE: After doing some closer review of the Lt side F-621B and 621A against the full-sized plans, it became clear that the side of the F-621B should NOT be cut vertically at the edge of the F-621A. Instead, the B should extend UNDER the A and then get FOUR rivets, two thru both parts and two just thru the B component. I'm tempted to ask Van's but there is no reason to drill, dimple, counter-sink and rivet the WRONG part and I need to follow the details of the plans on everything. I'll re-do the Rt side F-621B - order some Van's channel. Cheap mistake!
