Realized that the best result was going to be achieved by aggressive mod to the Vans 5-pt crotch strap kit to get a good fit and easier install.
Trimmed off the two sides (rivet flanges) of the Vans kit, trimmed off 1/16" from the remaining section (web) and fabricated two 3/4 x 3/4 AL angle .063 to replace the factory flanges. This allows the angles to be properly aligned (spaced), drilled and riveted before dealing with the inconsistencies of the rib dimensions in a non-pre-punch RV-6A kit.
Align the side angles, drill, secure with clecoes, and align the aft portion (F-7117B). Then drill, secure and remove to prepare it (debur, prime, etc). Repeat for the F-711A (fwd section).
