Very tedious task to cut all the overlapping components to make a hinged door, and reinforce the opening.
Good practice on a non-structure component. And, it required a lot of different techniques, but hope it was worth the effort.
Still need to rivet everything, and then the question of painting, etc., and needs a hinge on the bottom edge to attach to the seat pan behind the passenger seat. (Might be reachable in-flight, for storage of maps, batteries, flashlights, snacks, etc.)
