Continuing the long and slow (cumbersome) process of retrofitting Fuel Pump/Filter and Fuel Selector housings, Taking too long, Having to work inefficiently on each piece, tweaking, trimming and securing before going to the next. Due to the previous removal of the RV-6A battery box against the inside of the firewall, there are already holes in the floor stiffeners. Makes 'match drilling' the F-783 tunnel cover problematic to re-use those holes.. In addition, the 'usual' method is to have the F-783 tunnel cover 'inside' the stiffeners, but it doesn't fit that way in this QB. Nutplates are going on the stiffeners and not the F-783 cover.
Sometimes I feel like I'm hand building without plans. The measurements are not a perfect match, and adapting this option kit is taking longer than expected.
Squeezing the nutplate rivets to the stiffeners was a challenge - very close to the floor. Should have borrowed an angled hand squeezer from a friend. Lots of nutplates in this installation and need to order a couple dozen more.
