Brief Description: Assembly & Fabrication of F/I components
Very time consuming and a little challenging to resolve the details. One of the pieces NOT suppllied by Vans with the F/I installation kit was the 'bottom' of the heater box. This box needs to have a separator to prevent the heated air from travelling into the wiring and tubing section of the floor tunnel.
The louvers were clamped firmly and bent by hand, the cover where the throttle, mixture cables pass was fabricated to match the pre-punched nutplate pattern.
A strip of lightweight angle was added to the bottom of the oil filter recess to provide a single nutplate at the top of the louvers. (The original flange above the louvers was trimmed off.)
Starting to look promising but the fit in the cabin is still unresolved between the floor stiffeners and the fuel line and attach brackets on the aft end.
