Brief Description:  F/I housing - trimmed

After carefully aligning, and review instructions & fit, I marked and trimmed away an opening on the forward side of the fuel selector housing. The aft-end of the F/I housing fits against that opening with the fuel filter and high pressure fuel pump inside. Will have to modify the housings - both - to fit nutplates in locations where none were factory punched. (Yeh, not a problem for an RV-6A builder, as we seldom see 'factory punched' holes.)

Drill out the fuel selector valve stem and mounting holes and test fit the 'original' Vans fuel selector valve. This version uses the 'little end' of the pointer (as plumbed) to indicate the selected fuel source. In #3, the little end points to the "8-o'clock" position, and it would be the Left tank. Very confusing when that HUGE lever is pointing to the 2 o'clock, and so I plan to put a Cleveland Tools big-red switch and selector disc on here to know what's happening.

In #2, the mounting brackets are most visible, although the right side is removed. These brackets would attach in the RV-7 to a surface which does not exist in the RV-6A --- so some majic will have to take place to fabricate the required attach points.

Think I'm now safe to remove the blue vinyl, prime, paint and rivet most of this housing together. Drilling, de-burring, and install requisite nutplates along the way.
