This evening I felt recoved enough from my trip down to Wings over Wagga to do some more work. So I installed the canopy cables, support brackets, cable adjusters and inside and outside release mechanism, along with drilling the slots in the front canopy hoop so that the cable can be routed between the left and right side of the plane. There is not really much to say about it, just follow the instructions, its pretty strait forward and I guess the pictures tell the story. I still need to swage the cable ends where they pass through the actual latch release, but I'll do this once I have removed the canopy frame and primed and painted the steel parts and the canopy hoops. I'm not crazy about the inside release handle, but after seeing the XL at Wagga, it looks lots better once its painted.
