This afternoon I marked the left flap hinge and cut it to size, this was followed by marking the 8mm centre line and setting out the required rivet pitch. I drilled the hinge out with a #30 drill then clamped it to the flap after marking the required 3mm offset from the bottom of the front face of the flap skin. The hinge was then back drilled again with a #30 drill, adding cleco's as I went to stop the hinge from wandering. Once this was complete, I then back drilled to the correct size with a #20 drill. I finished the evening off by cleaning the bench and vacuming up all the swarf in preparation for the replacement aileron skin which should arrive tomorrow.

The deed is done, back drilled with #20 drill ready for deburring and dimpling.
