Brief Description:  Finger strainer access cover

After I completed the riveting of the nose ribs I coated the insdie of the nose skin with Cortec and when dry hand dimpled the bottom side of the skin. I was not willing the try and balance the skin and risk a crease if all went wrong. Once I had finished hand dimpling the skin with the A4 close quarters dies, I carefully lifted the nose skin into place and secured it with clecoes. I followed this with measuring the bottom wing tip cutout. Need to add a shot of the cut out, I am quite pleased with the end result. I had been contemplating the finger screen access cover for a little while since my version of the plans seems to call for a smaller access cover (170mm long) then I have seem on most peoples web sites. Anyhow, I went with what the plans specified and allowed 20mm extra in the cut out so that I can recess the cover the same as the aileron access cover. I decided to try the fly cutter I had bought at Bunnings to start the initial hole. Let me tell you, you get what you pay for and a $10 fly cutter is garbage. It really chewed the skin away, lucky it was in an area that was going to be removed. I was going to use it to cut my fuel tank sender hole, thank God I tried it first. I finished off the cut with the good old tins snips and a half round hand file. Now I just need to make the recessed plate with captive nut plates and mark the actual cover to fit the hole I have cut...
