Brief Description:  Rudder adjust & elevator pushrod install

OK, wrapped up the emp install this morning. First I removed the rudder. I quick word about that as I have not mentioned it before. I bought a set of temp install pins from Avery's which are just some small pins, the same dia as an AN3 bolt, threaded on one end, pointed on the other and bent in the middle a little past 90 degrees. A small handle comes in the package that screws on to the pins and allows for easy installation. You then unscrew it and the pin remains behind. As you have to install and remove things multiple times, these things have been a God-send. Anyway, I needed to adjust my rudder travel, but I really didn't want to adjust the bottom bearing (per the plans) and the rest of my alignment with the VS was perfect plus the rudder was swinging effortlessly. So I decided to adjust all 3 bearings a couple of turns to keep everything equal. Worked like a charm as the rudder stayed in alignment and my rudder to trim tab measurement grew to 2 1/8" which is close enough to spec for me.

I then back tracked a little and installed the elevator push rod. First, I verified elevator travel insuring the most forward horn (the left one) hit the front stop first and the aft horn (the right one) hit the rear stop first. I then put the elevators in trail and installed the pushrod. Using a template made per the plans out of a piece of cardboard, I checked to see that the pushrod assembly was the proper length. As luck would have it, I got it right from the get go so no adjustment was necessary. Now I can disassemble everything for storage.

I purposely skipped installing the trim cables and servo as there's no value added at this point.
