Brief Description:  Begain riveting the tailcone

Today I began riveting the siffeners to the skins. These rivets have to be bucked. The upper stiffeners I could do solo as I was able to reach both sides of the rivet without trouble. I have opted to buck these vs back riveting them as a lot of people do for a coupl e of reasons. First, I had to move my workshop tabel into the play room and I just wasn't feeling up to it. Second, I've never been particularly thrilled with my back riveting results in the past (might be my back rivet set). Third, bucking doesn't scare me. As you can see from photo 1, shooting does leave marks on the skins that back riveting doesn't, but those marks are just scuffs (a normal result of the flush rivet set without a guard) and not dents--they won't be visible once the plane is painted.
