I'm building a hybrid like a few of the fellows. Decided to go with the Avipro wing kit and scratch build the fuselage with a few Avipro parts thrown in.
Goal is to build a bare bones, no frills Bearhawk that will be a good short field performer. The picture, top left, is an aerial view of Nauga Field (LS35). Runway is 1550 feet with obstructions. No intention of building a Grand Champion. We'll see how successful I can be at keeping the weight down.
Not sure if the hours posted are a good reference. I'm a pretty slow builder. Take too much time thinking and not enough "just do it"! Couldn't even attempt this without Eric Newton's Builders Manuals and Russ Erb's CD for reference. This project started in South Louisiana and has migrated to central New Mexico.
