Welcome to my experimental aircraft Web site.
I thought a bit of background might answer the usual 'why build an aircraft?'
I am an ex-RAAF pilot and flying instructor and have been flying for 25 years. During my time flying STOL Caribous I flew over many parts of Australia I wanted to go back and visit in detail. Many of these places needed a seaplane to gain access.
All of this led me to decide now was the time to do something about it. I selected the CH-701 STOL aircraft, as I enjoy the challenges of this type of flying, and it can be fitted with amphibious floats. It may be slow, but that is not an issue for me.
It should be an interesting process, which I will do my best to detail as I go.
Feel free to contact me if anything you see raises questions.
Cheers.
Jon
Update 27 Jan 08. I have purchased a kit from a builder who has stopped in the US. He has obtained his PPL, and so has bought a Cub to work on. The wings are 90% completed and some of the fuselage work is done.
