UPDATE - March 2015: It's been over a year since we had anything new to report on the builder site. That's all changing very soon since our fuselage crate arrived a couple weeks ago. What have we done in a year that kept us from building? We had to find a hangar to build the plane in since my 340 sq foot basement just wasn't going to work. After a lot of stress, work, financial dealings, and other fun negotiations, we bought a house on Crest Airpark in Kent. Garage in front yard, big 40 foot door to taxiway in backyard to a 3300 foot runway nearby. I sold the old house and made some money on that and after a year of unpacking, a few other projects and completing the hangar, we are now back to building again.

Hello! Welcome to our RV-7A build journal. I have been flying almost 22 years and a flight instructor for about 18 years. Traci has been flying since she was 9 years old in Grandpa's Piper Cub sitting in his lap. We obviously both have the same passion for the sky and decided that it was time to build our own. Traci has wanted for years to build and RV-7, so when she met me and told me her dream I just said DO IT! So here we go building a plane. We already have a name for the plane and a color picked out - "Tweety" and she will be yellow of course. No tail numbers yet, but that will come later.
The empennage is starting out in our basement, but once that is done (hopefully by late summer of 2013) we'll be seeking a garage, investment house with garage or a hanger to keep the build going.
So please feel free to wander around our build pages and ask questions, offer advice or ideas. Anything is very welcome and we are happy to share info with you also about our project.
Wishing you minimal smiling rivet heads, no missed dimple holes and may the radius of aluminum around your holes be consistent!
