Matt & Val's 650B
Welcome to our experimental aircraft Web site. I hope everyone enjoys watching as we document the journey of building our own airplane. Building my own airplane has been a dream of mine as long as I can remember. I'm excited to finally get started. Our children are now grown and out of school, so it's the perfect time to get this project moving. I've spent many years dreaming of which airplane we would build. We even bought a few sets of plans over the years. Most of them were fast, sleek, high performance models, but I realized that was not the type of flying I enjoyed. I'm happy being low and slow and watching the world pass beneath our wings. The Zodiac CH650B is the perfect fit for us and what we want to do. I've been an aircraft structural mechanic most of my life, so I have an uneasy confidence that this home building thing should be a piece of cake. (keep reading when you get done laughing) My confidence doesn't come from any special skills or experience, but because I have the opportunity to work on this project with my best friend, who also happens to be my wife. She is as excited as I am about getting started, and if the past 25 years are any indication of the future, she will be the driving force that gets us to the finish line.
