Peters RV-7 Web Site
Welcome to my experimental aircraft Web site. I am a first time builder, and I have chosen the slow build kit to enable me to fully understand the design and to give myself a better understanding of the whole project. Engine: Superior XPplus-I0-360 horizontal induction with investment cylinders and 9:1 pistons. I was originally going for an overhauled 200hp angle valve Lycoming, but bearing in mind that the Superior is brand new for almost the same money and with the high compression pistons and blue printing should give about 190hp, that and the fact that it weighs about 40Ibs less than the Lycoming made my mind up. My only concern is that after reading a couple of flight test reports, The RV7, even with a 200hp Lycoming up front seems to be a little tail heavy, Removing weight from the nose might restrict the amount of baggage I can carry, Suppose I can always fit a lead spinner! Prop: MT 3 blade constant speed with chrome spinner. Constant speed because, have you ever tried driving a car arround thats stuck in one gear? MT because my business is involved with German products and their engineering rocks. 3 blade with chrome spinner because it just looks right! Panel: Dynon EFIS D100, Dynon EMS D120, KMD 150 moving map GPS with terrain mapping. Trutrak pictorial autopilot with altitude hold, Standby ASI and Alti, Hamilton vertical card compass, Garmin SL40 radio and Garmin mode S transponder.
