Brief Description:  Scotchbrite and Dimple L and R Ailerons

21-5:
Step 2: Scuff and dimple all appropriate ailerons parts per the plans. I spent some time fit checking the left airleron trailing edge after dimpling the skins with the TE wedge. I then realized I had not rolled the TE of the skins before dimpling as was done on the tail surfaces. After examining the elevator, I realized the ailerons have less distance from TE rivets to the edge than the tail surfaces and the rolled edge line would be within the radius of the dimple. I had some minor issues with the aileron edge not lying completely flat in a few areas but were not really noticeable and seemed to be due to the cleco pulling the edge up when installed, maybe because of the countersink hole and dimple depth matching. I deepend some of the offending areas to see if that help but did not make much difference. Next step was to flatten the dimples on the bottom skin and roll the edge slightly and then reset the dimple. I practiced on scrap first and seemed to work ok. So did the bottom skin and checked the alignment. Seemed to help some but I was unwilling to try the same to the top skin as I could detect some minor waving to the bottom skin when not assembled and did not want to take the chance of waving the TE. I had not dimpled the right aileron so rolled the bottom skin the same and dimpled so both left and right matched. I'll stay with that.
