Brief Description:  Rivet L-Tank Top Skin to Inner Ribs

18-5:
Step 10: Rivet L-Tank top skin to inner ribs. Cleaned the three most forward rivet holes and riveted these first. Rivet set was acceptable. Added Proseal to hole and to the rivet prior to assembly and riveting. Used the fixed flat set for these rivets. Next, riveted every other hole from forward to aft using the same technique. The straight set was not producing fully square manufactured head sets to the skin surface so switched to the swivel set and got better results. At the end, I removed excess Proseal from rivet manufactured head and found some slight prowdness to the rivet set relative to the outer skins surface. Wiped outer skin Proseal from rivet heads and used swivel set on gun and reset all rivets with a few hits and got better sets and noted som Proseal squeezed from under the manufactured heads, which I considered a good sign. Overall results were better. Will use less Proseal in rivet holes when placing rivets or maybe cleaning once in the hole so rivets pull down better at the start. Manufacured heads were all ok but some were a little over-driven after I reset with clean heads. I must say, waiting two days to begin riveting after appying Proseal is the gouge as to less stress and less mess when riveting. It was quite pleasant. I can't imagine trying to set al these rivets with Proseal wet. It's got to cause a mess.

Probably shouldn't have put so much Proseal down until bucking LE rivets.
