Brief Description:  Left Wing Bottom Stiffener Riveting

18-5:
Step 8: Rivet four inboard Left Tank bottom stiffeners. Having some problem setting the manufacture head as deep as I'd like. Some are prowd enought to catch a finger nail so I am drilling them out and resetting them. Problem may be because skin is a bit flimsy and I am not getting the gun set correctly against the skin. I have solved my shop head issue from yesterday with more attention to bucking bar alignment and pressure (and lower gun air pressure, now 25 psi at the regulator on the wall). Hand squeezed the Left Tank Drain Flange, had a couple of problem rivets wanting to bend or set the shop head to one side. The AN426AD3-4 rivets are a bit long for the flange so stepped down to the 3.3.5 and shop head set was good. Probably has something to do with the slick Proseal and the rivet not being completely perpendicular to the squeeze head. Drilled out one and reset with the shorter rivet. the other one was within tolerance. I seem to be quite slow at this with all the drilling and resetting. I sanded down the rubber on the outside of the rivet hammer to reduce the risk of the anvil not being pressed flush against the skin.Tomorrow will go better.
