Brief Description:  LTank Assemble and Match/Final Drill

18-2:
Step 6: Final-Drill all the ribs to the skin.
18-3:
Step 1: Positon and align J-stiffener per the drawings. I shaved a slight tilt to each end of the J-Stiffener so it would not rub on the end ribs when positioned 1/4 inch from end hole.
Step 2: Fit and match drill Tank Attach Braket to Tank Skin and Tank Inboard Nose Rib.
Step 3: Check Fuel Cap flange bend and orient with Tank skin curvature.
Step 4: Fit and drilled Fuel Cap Flange and Vent clib to the Tank Skin. Cut the vent clip using a unibit to 7/16 inch to accomodate the SB437-4 Snap Bushing. I did not see this called out in the drawings.
18-4:
Step 1: Drilled nutplate retaining hole so Tank Attach Zees to #40, countersunk for NAS 1097 AD3-3.5 vs AN426AD3-4 rivets. Used hand squeezer to install rivets to Zee and nutplates.
Step 2: Clecoed the Tank Inbd Rib-Aft to the Tank Skin and Attach Bracket per the plans.
Step 3: Clecoed the Tank Baffle and the Tank Attach Zee's to the tank rib aft flanges. Final drilled the all attach zee to tank baffle. I noticed after match drilling that there was an orientation to the tank baffle T-1002. There is an extra flange hole mid span of the bottom flange (got lucky). I did not see this called out in the plans.
Step 4: Clecoed Tank skin to upper and lower flanges and match drilled.
Step 5: Drilled all screw holes in the Fuel Tank Skin to #19.
Step 6: Skipped, will dimple all Aft Baffle flange rivet holes.
Step 7: Disassembled L-Tank. Polished rough leading edge of all ribs since noted some gouging and leading edge skin deformation, which appears not permanent once disassembled.
