Brief Description: Rivet R-Flap to Spar; Blind Rivet L & R Flap Nose
22-8: Step 3: Final Drill #33 the L-Flap Nose Ribs and install blind rivets. The holes closest to the hinges were enlarged using a #40 long bit since I had only short #33 bit. Ground down top of hand rivet gun so could pull these rivets next to hinges. The rest were drilled with #33 and pulled with pneumatic rivet puller. 22-7: Step4/5: Riveted R-Flap Skins to Spar and Top Skin to Ribs per instructions. Adjusted rivet lengths for skins to spar from 3-3.5 to 3-4 as length was better. End tab rivets I squeezed 3-5s as they set better with a more acceptable shop head as was found with the L-Flap. The rest of the rivets remained as specified in the plans. Found one suprise in the AN 470AD3-4 rivet bin. One soft rivet which smashed flat as soon as I bucked it. I have none of these in my shop. I have no idea where it came from. 22-8: Step 1/2: Back riveted top skin last two rivets to ribs. Riveted bottom skins and nose skins to spar. Overlap seams pulled down tight as desired as with the L-Flap
