Brief Description:  Soda Blast L-Flap Ribs; Assemble R-Flap

22-5:
Step 6: Finished scuffing and deburing L-Flap ribs and doublers. Used soda blaster for first time and the results were quite positive. I've always had a problem with the flange side of the ribs getting scotchbrite down in the corners to allow good adhesion of the primer. In some instances I've found the primer in these areas can flake off occationally when disturbed. Theory is that the surface did not have enough "tooth" to adhere (or was not clean). Either case, soda blast seems to work without damage to aluminum.
22-4: Right Flap assembly, same as the left with some preparationg to the LE mating surfaces to allow them to butt without overlap. Unsuccessful, had to release the outer LE top skin and sand with 220 until a modest seam clearance was realized. Glad I squared up the hinge flanges prior to assembly as I can see a better fit already which should promote closer drilling tolerances. Also added additional lighting to the shop (garage) so the old man can see better. Haven't thrown a breaker yet so maybe I'll add more light later.
