Brief Description: Left Tank Attach Bracket Sub-Assembly
18-5: A very slow start from a three month gap. I have been on extended business trips, on and off, for the last three month making building difficult. Full time / over-time work is a good thing I guess. Step 1: Finally found the T-1005BC shims, separated them and deburred edges and holes. Step 2: Final drilled the T-1005B and T-1005c #40 and #19 holes while assembled on the Tank Attach Bracket. Step 3: Yes, I studied the whole lot for a while. I found after such a layoff that it took me some time to get the old head thinking in the correct manner to assemble parts in my head as I've done before. Step 4: Dimpled the two #19 holes as described in the plans. I did not dimple the related #40 holes in the shims as indicated but instead fitted these with NAS 1097 AD3-3 rivets (Oops rivets) and counter sunk the related holes. Decide to prime only the VA-146 bearings as it was not Alclad aluminum. All the rest of the tanks will remain unprimed.
