Brief Description:  L Wing Top Outboard Skin Riveting

16-3:

Good to be building again! Many unrelated delays and work related travel postponed building.

Step 1 and 2: Rechecked the wing spar was flat against the build tables. Had previously run a fishing line the full lenght of the spar, top and bottom, and blocked up as necessary to ensure it was flat. Used the electronic level (M-D Building Products SmartTool) to ensure there was no significant twist from root to wingtip. Adusted spar it to within 0.2 deg of true which is probably overkill but felt more comfortable when riveting would stay true. Checked during riveting to ensure there was no shift in wing.
Step 3: Began riveting center of Left Top Outer Wing Skin. Began at first with back riveting with a heavy tungsten bucking bar and long back rivet set but shot heads were inconsistent. Moved to conventional riveting and had better more consistent results so will continue this method of riveting.
