Brief Description:  Prime all Rear Spar Parts

15-4:
Step 3: Primed all parts related to the L & R Rear Spars. Pretty much finished off the old cans of PPG primer with new unopened cans ready when needed. Primer was mixed well and stirred for 30 minutes per instructions after both primer and catalyst combined. But had a little problem keeping the pigment suspended and seemed to have to blend more completely than I thought necessary. First batch was 12oz and was not enough to finish both sides of all parts. So broke open the new primer cans, transferred pour spouts after cleaning them, and mixed primer can on auto-shaker for 30 min. Mixed a 20 oz batch and stirred for 30 min, off and on. Much better suspension results and it layed down easier with a better flow. The old batch was about 18 months old and beyond service life (don't remember how much). So the moral of the story is that many of the recent problems I was having with laying down the primer may have been from using the expired primer. It seems to adhere fine but not as pretty and a pain to mix well. I'll watch expiration dates more closely in the future.
