Brief Description:  Control Cables - Critical parts. Use Go, No Go Too

This part was the most un-nerving for me. I was visualizing each end of the cable slipping out of the sleeve (image 2) and leaving me with no control surfaces during flight. But, undaunted, I used the swaging tool to crimp the center of the nicopress leaving a small portion of the cable protruding from the sleeve. I used pre-positioned heat-shrink tubing to cover the cable end, and then heated to secure it. Once I finished the crimping, I checked the crimp using a go-no go tool from Aircraft Supply for $5. I have more confidence now. Also, I had the entire EAA chapter over to my house and they looked over every part of the plane and gave an overwhelming collective nod of approval. Also received a lot of incredible information such as where the filler tube is supposed to be positioned on the tire... I had no idea there was a specific place, but I do now. Off comes the tube, tire and filler along with hub to replace the filler so that it comes out where the red dot is located on the tire!
