Brief Description:  This is the day of Inspection

Today is the inspection. In figure 1 we are just about ready to weigh the 601XL with everything completed. Final weight is 774 lbs. I guessed it would weigh 780 so I won the bet! After finishing the W&B calculations which Gus did while I finished riveting up the right flap, we then were able to let Ray Howell do his inspection. I am just about to fall over from exhaustion after spending two solid weeks of 10-12 hour days working on the details to get ready for this day. In photo 2, we are now certified as an E-LSA, N601EL. Pictured are some of the helpers and include from left to right, Gus Warren, Scott Thatcher (me), Craig Wilson, Scott Curry, Joe Scaglione, one of our hangar mates down the road (sorry about not knowing his name but he was helpful) and Bill Perry (Tech Advisor). In addition to these people, I would never have been able to complete this aircraft without the expert help and encouragement of the following people: William Wynne, Kevin Fahy, Mark Langford, William Dominguez, Fred Roser, Sandra Thatcher, Jay Bannister, Mark Jones, Bill Clapp, Clare Snyder, Paul Volte, Sherman, Ed Nietze, John Roberts, Scott Laughlin, Jim Howard, Donato Martino, Christian Bobka, Gig Giancona, Jimmy Davenport, Steve Davis, both the Corvaircraft and Matronics Lists (Zenith), the Zenith Factory and William Wynne's FlyCorvair.com. Thanks to all of you.
