I then pulled the aircraft up ramps onto racing car scales I borrowed from Gary Platner, an RV owner/pilot here at 52F. I used squares of 2x6 lumber under the main wheels to raise the tail (lower the nose) to get the aircraft level. I then got the aircraft's empty weight on each tire (minus the wood blocks and chocks). Empty weight: 1150 lbs, not too bad.
