45-18, Steps 3, 4, & 5

Brad and Janice assisted me today.

Place the C-1005 Windscreen in place on the fuselage.

Fabricate five clips from pieces of scrap .032 aluminum. The clips are blind riveted to the F-1071 Fwd Fuse Top Skin to hold the base of the C-1005 Windscreen against the fwd fuse top skin. The clips are installed every 12 inches along the lower edge of the windscreen.

Fabricate a Windscreen Base Fairing. The windscreen base fairing provides a smooth transition
between the base of the C-1005 Windscreen and the F-1071 Fwd Fuse Top Skin. The windscreen base fairing is fabricated direclly on the fuselage and consists of a lay-up of E-glass fabric and epoxy resin as subsequenlly described.

I started this step by putting down a layer of micro to fill the gap and smooth the transition between the window and the upper fuselage assembly.
