Brief Description:  Forward Cowl Trimming

47-4, Steps 5, 6, & 7

Clean any excess resin that may have cured along the flange joggle on the bottom cowl. Remove abnormal glass and resin buildup from the inside surface of the top cowl. Sand down the corners of the flange on the bottom cowl until the top cowl can fit into place

Fit the top and bottom cowl halves together. Evenly trim the aft edge of the air inlets.

Clamp the top and bottom cowls together. Of the three hole pattern, mark the location of the forward most hole on both sides of the top cowl spinner opening. Drill #40 then cleco the forward most hole only. Oops! I drilled all three. I may have to fill and redrill later.

Today was also the first day that the hangar door was open in months. It wasn't really warm (50), but compared to the recent months it seemed warm.

Brad also assisted me today.
