Brief Description: Spinner Completion and Rudder Fairing
|
|
47-03, Steps 9, 10, & 11
Deburr all holes drilled, then rivet the nutplates called-out to the Spinner Back Plate Assembly, the S-603 Spinner Front Plale, and the S-1002 Backing Plates.
Rivet the S-1002 Backing Plate to the S-1001 Gap Filler, then rivet the gap filler to the Spinner Back Plate Assembly.
Secure the S-601-1 Spinner to the S-603 Spinner Front Plate, the Spinner Back Plate Assembly, and to the S-1002 Backing Plate using the screws and washers called-out.
As Murphy's Law dictates, the last screw I was installing had a bad nutplate. I had to removed all 22 screws, drill out the rivets in that nutplate, then install a new one.
Drilled the nutplate holes for the rudder fairings on the empennage. Due to the tight quarters, this took two or three times longer than it should. I guess that is standard with mods that aren't in the plans. I had to use three different techniques to get all the dimples done.
