Brief Description: Started panel planning
|
|
After a week off spending Christmas in Louisiana with family, I didn't really get much done with the plane today.
While cleaning up my office, I put a full size drawing of the new panel that Geoff Combs has designed. I started placing cut outs of the various pieces of equipment that I've been thinking about installing in my RV-10.
It's not bad for round one of planning, but I still have a way to go before I'm done. It's amazing how apparent a bad layout is once everything is done on a visual basis. I don't like the left side layout, but I have months to go before I need a final layout.
I can't make up my mind if I want to go with a Dynon D-10 or discrete gauges for backup instruments. I'm leaning towards the D-10 at the moment.
Other devices that I'm planning on installing at the moment are GRT Horizon HXs, Dynon D-10, Garmin 696, Garmin 430W, Garmin 330, Garmin SL30, Vertical Power VP-200 Duo, Gaurdian CO monitor, AFS AOA, Vertical Card Compass, Precision Engineering Audio Panel. and a Trutrack Autopilot (Sourcer or RV-10).
This is hanging on the wall outside my office. Everyone will get a full viewing as they come down the basement steps. I'm going to leave it up until I assemble the panel. As the mood strikes me, I can re-arrange everything and experiment with placements to my heart's content.
