Brief Description:  Riveting Right Wing

Right Wing

Riveted the top outward wing skin to the wing ribs and spar. Brad assisted me today.

Left Wing

Experimented with several suggestions on how to handle those last couple of rivets that are hard to get to the shop end. Nothing was successful as of yet. I ordered a bucking bar from Cleaveland that appears to have a thinner foot.

Misc

I had problems with the shop vac. It turned out Janice used it in the flower bed and got it clogged with mulch. Simple to fix, but frustrating to find the problem.

I attempted to drain water from the air filter on the compressor line. Unfortunately, once the valve was open, we coudn't get it closed. So I ended up getting a new filter. I took the opportunity to fix a small air leak.

Fedex delivered my order from Avery's about 8.30pm last night. You may want to think they went beyond the call of duty to deliver it, but not really. It was supposed to be here the day before and was in the Columbus terminal two days before. All day the promised day of arrival Fedex promised it would be here by 4:30 and don't worry. When I called at 5:00, they stated all offices were closed and there was nothing I could do. It appears that the local folks decided to take vacation early and just didn't deliver all their packages. There was a quite a few other calls to/from Fedex that I haven't mentioned. Some are from remote indivual employees attempting to do the right thing and some from local management who failed to do their job.

Bottom line, if you need something delivered on a specific date, don't use Fedex. At least not in Columbus. I'm now a UPS convert even if they are a little more expensive.
