Brief Description: VPX, NAV Antenna, and Horizontal
Brad is in town for the holidays, so he gave me a hand today, especially since I still can't do much until this cast comes off on the 10th.
Brad spent the majority of the time attempting to remount the VPX up underneath the panel. The issues had nothing to do with the VPX. I made a tray that the VPX is mounted to and the tray is mounted to two ribs underneath the panel. I took the VPX out to facilitate riveting the panel ribs to the firewall. What i didn't realize until we went to reinstall the VPX that the ribs must have moved a bit when they were riveted. Hence the VPX tray didn't fit properly. I did start the process of altering the tray to make it fit, but after a few hours under the panel, I couldn't keep asking Brad to crawl back underneath again.
So we moved to the tail......
Brad assisted me in re-installing the nav antenna under the empennage.
Brad then assisted me in re-running the elevator trim control cables through the horizontal.
I noticed that I didn't get the nut plates installed on the horizontal. Brad drilled the holes using the nut plate jig. We started installing the nutplates, but ran out of time before we had to leave for dinner.
