We started off the day with an EAA9 Hombuilder's Subgroup meeting at the hangar.
Brad did the following tasks:
44-2, Steps 5 & 6
Final-Drill #40 and machine countersink the T-1001-L Fuel Tank Skin for the nutplate rivets. Final-Drill #19, deburr and dimple the two #8 screw holes in the tank skin: Rivet the nutplates depicted to the tank skin as per the callouts.
After grinding down the female die, Brad dimpled the holes for a #8 screw.
Screw a nipple tube/pipe fitting into the. Finger Strainer and tighten it.
I spent time sanding the micro fillet on the cowl mod. Using the supplied templed, I drilled th rivet holes to mount the MilSpect fastners.
I also beveled the lower corners of the F-1004A and F-1004B Center-Section Bulkheads as well as the F-1004F and F-1004H Center-Section Lower Forward/Aft Bars to eliminate interference with the T-1001-L Fuel Tank Skin during assembly.
