Before painting the fairing, the fairing should be placed on and fitted to the fuselage. All the holes except maybe the very front 2 bolts and the holes for the 2 rivets should be drilled. really is a 2 person job. will require 2 cleco's for the rivets on the back side of the fairing on page 57.
The jabiru will require some trimming on the bottom front of the fairing in order to make it fit.
The cutting was done with a dremel cutting tool.
CRITICAL NOTE: this fitting is a criticle step. If you take a look at the first photo, you can see the mistake we made. See how the hole for the front strut is not centered in the hole. i.e. the fairing is not back far enough? Well, the result that showed up later is that the windshield did not seem to be large enough and we had to do some special fitting in order to make the windshield work. There was also minor fitting issues we had to deal with for the door frame due to the mistake.
We failed to note the dimension on the diagram for pate 57 :-( and as a result, see the notes on page 128 that we had to do in order to fix our problems.
