I've just discovered another great benefit of the Internet building community. Last night at just before midnight, I was checking my email one last time when I saw a note from my Texas building buddy, Dave Clay. He had checked on my Kitlog site (around 2am, his time) and noticed that I had misinterpreted Chris Heintz's splice drawing. I made a flat splice, and Dave knew that it was supposed to be a channel splice. Not only did he check on my work in the wee hours of the morning, but he spotted my error and let me know about it. All in a day's work for an Internet homebuilding helper like Dave. I didn't mention it, but Dave is no longer even building a 601XL. He's on to scratch building a Sonex. What a guy. I re-made the parts as intended and the came out great. Thanks, Dave.
