Brief Description:  Formed first wing rib

Well, my marathon workshop time is drawing to an end. Most of my family is back in town, so my time in the shop will need to be moderated considerably...and for good reason. The one exception was tonight, when our son, Ryan, expressed an interest in forming a wing rib with me. That's a request that will never go unanswered. Before he came out to the garage, I did the prep work (or so I thought). I marked and cut left rib blank #4, smoothed the edges and bolted it between the rib forms. While demonstrating rib forming technique, it struck me that my flange was extending waaay over the form. Turns out I had cut 30mm flanges, not 18mm per the plans. Seems I had been using 30mm as my minimum safe distance in pre-cutting, and the number stuck in my head. Anyway...after cutting them down to 18mm we went ahead. I only demonstrated a very small amount, and Ryan did 90% of the work. Great job, Ryan. How fun is it to have that first wing rib formed. Flycutting, flanging, and then I only have 17 more to go! More fun ahead.
