When I started to replace the flap control tubes, it became clear that a small amount of trimming would be required on the bottom flange of the rear channel on both sides of the plane. With that accomplished, I lubricated the steel shims and inserted both tubes. Before leaving for the day, I temporarily clecoed the flaps in place. What a difference that makes to the appearance. Tomorrow we're going to the mountains but I expect to be back at the hangar to complete the flap installation Sunday afternoon and evening.
