Brief Description: Contact with PTI re: Zinc Chromate
Contacted the President of PTI and told him of the issues homebuilders have in getting acurate information on corrosion protection. He offered to come by my place of work to pick up samples of parts and stock sheet aluminum. Their chemist is going to run tests to insure that their belief is correct--that we can prep with simple acetone or isopropyl alcohol (no Alumiprep or Alodine) and forego the Scotchbrite scuffing on new aluminum and our formed parts. This would be very good news indeed. They will post the results on the Aircraft Spruce website and give me detailed info to distribute to the Zenith list. (Time: 1.0 hours)
