Set up bottom plate and bend plate for installation of the piano hinges. Riveted both 6" and 3" half hinge on bottom plate, but only riveted 6" matching hinge on bend plate to make hinge pin installation easier. After considerable effort on Joy's part (not to mention a fair amount of 3-in-1 oil), we were successful. Next I installed the hinge pin in 3" section before riveting and then manually aligned the plates and unattached hinge portion. Completed the arm and did general clean up. (Time: 7.5 hours)
