Today I completed drilling and tapping both flap pushrods. As with the first hole, tapping the other three was just as tedious; start the tap with the drill press to assure alignment, then move the flaring tool and tube with the tap started to the bench vice and finish tapping with a wrench, 1/4 turn at a time.
I assembled both pushrods as close as I could to the original measurements. One rod is about 1/16 inch shorter than the other, but I will not Loctite the rod end bearings in place until I have reinstalled the wings to the fuselage and checked flap movement.
