Brief Description:  Roll Bar Attach Angles

Back on 4/19/16 I unnecessarily notched both F-705 G roll bar attach angles to make room for future rivet shop heads behind the longerons in the vicinity of the F-705 bulkhead. As it turns out, if the angles are located correctly, and the forward ends of the F-774 aft top skin over the baggage compartment are riveted before these angles are installed, there is no need for the notches. Some time back a friend with a mill returned a favor by fabricating a new set of angles for me. Today I attempted to drill the new angles...

Due to interference from the longerons, the upper F-705 cross channel could not be removed for good access, so I had to get a little creative in locating and clamping the new angles for drilling. I was successful on the left one, but somehow managed to clamp the right one in place with about a 1/8" gap on the outboard vertical edge where it meets the F-705 upright channel, and drilled it before I noticed. Time to order more material to fabricate another angleā€¦ :O(
